More fitness leads by better user experience in Google

Everyone knows Google Ads (the official new name for Google Adwords). This blog is about the additional techniques we use to generate more leads through Google Adwords, without simply increasing the budget. 

In 3 steps:

1 - Google search behaviour; that's disappointing

The first step in marketing is to stand out. If you don't, you won't get noticed, won't get any reactions and won't get any clients. Standing out in Google means being directly visible when someone looks for you. For this to work, you need to know how people search: so what words do they use (both typing and using their voice). This is really where it all begins. If people don't use your keywords, your results will be very limited. So how do you know which keywords to use? In Google Trends you can easily discover which keywords are often used. But wait! We already took care of that. Check it out, from 2004 (foundation of Hidden Profits Marketing) until now. 

Notable: 'yoga' and 'gym' are becoming more and more popular keywords and most shocking: even on their way to beat the word 'fitness'! The words 'personal trainer' and 'boutique club' are barely used. 

2 - Google user experience; it's easy, check your own habits! 

Everyone uses Google to search. Or YouTube. But that's actually Google as well. So everyone uses Google. How do you use Google? Most people don't use a computer anymore, they use a mobile. But that is not even the latest trend anymore... Voice search is the new thing (voice activated search), because it's so simple and easy! 

Google is all about quick and satisfying results:

What do you prefer: a quick and satisfying answer, or endless clicking and browsing to finally find what you're looking for? You get the point. And so does Google. If this doesn't happen in the blink of an eye, you're gone. So, the key is to match your Google Ad to the right keywords and to be directly visible when people are looking for you. The result: an increase in your number of online leads!

3 - Google Algorithm; are you missing out?

Google constantly improves their algorithm. The algorithm determines the ranking of your website and your Google Ad. The highscore secret: be relevant, so:

  • Stand out
  • Keep it simple
  • Build a smart marketing funnel
  • Make sure your info is relevant*
  • Keep your website up-to-date (front-end and back-end)

It's not about discovering the magic keyword, it's about offering info that is truly relevant. Surprisingly, showing less information leads to more leads then showing a lot of information.
